After having neglected this blog/livejournal for a long period of time in which many things happened, some pleasant and some unpleasant, I'm reviving it - partly because if I don't use it now, I probably never will (well, and the fact that Haibo starting a blog inspired me to think of this again).

So I have recently been listening to Coldplay's new song Viva la vida quite a lot - partly due to being exposed to it on the radio stream which I am listening to while at work, partly deliberately because it happens to be one of the songs on my new iPod (after the sad wet and cold death of the old one).
And, even though I am no fan of overinterpreting song lyrics, I quite like those of Viva la vida. The title itself is interesting ("Long live the life"), but the combination with the cover picture of the album that makes use of Eugène Delacroix's 19th century painting La Liberté guidant le peuple makes it even more interesting to look at.

05:25 pm - Off to new shores

So - a Livejournal. Seems kind of odd after I condemned the whole blogging thing to be somewhat childish and shut down my blog about two years ago. But things have changed and I have changed since then - and certainly this will be different from the old blog in several ways. I will not be posting to it as frequently as I did back then - I'll only say something if I actually have something to say, and this is going to be more of a log of things I've been up to - so that I keep some record for myself - than a channel for me to rant about life, the universe and everything (even though I cannot guarantee that is not going to happen occasionally :) ).

I've decided to go with Livejournal rather than my own setup as this seems to be the preferred choice amongst most of the people I met over here - plus this way I don't have to keep some chronically misbehaving PHP-based blogging software up to date.

So, welcome to my new online abode. I'm not promising anything exciting happening on here - we'll see how it goes, I guess.
